Ultratech Cement Limited

You can find us at the Narmada Cement Housing Colony, specifically at C-8/5 in Jafrabad. Being here in the Amreli district of Gujarat, out in the Saurastra region, gives our daily work a very specific feel. It is a company colony, so almost everyone knows each other. We are part of the Ultratech Cement Limited setup in this area. Most of our days are spent coordinating with the plant and making sure the local distribution of bags goes as smoothly as possible. This is a coastal area, so the air often feels a bit salty and the humidity can be quite high. We do not go for big marketing pushes or anything like that; the work usually speaks for itself when people see the new buildings going up around the district. We handle the logistics side, making sure the trucks are loaded properly and the paperwork for the colony and the surrounding area is kept in order. It is a very practical way of life. We wake up, walk over to the office, and start going through the dispatch lists for the day. Sometimes there are delays at the port or on the local roads, but that is just how things go in this part of Gujarat. We are just a group of people trying to make sure the cement gets where it is supposed to go. We do not have any fancy mission statements. (248 words)
