Orian Steel Corporation

Orian Steel Corporation is located right in the middle of the GIDC Estate at Plot No. 56-B and 44-B. It’s a large industrial area, so there’s always trucks moving in and out, carrying heavy loads of metal. Our place is basically a big warehouse and workshop space where we handle all kinds of steel. It’s a dirty job, and we all have grease on our hands by the end of the shift. The air smells like iron and oil, which is something you just get used to after the first week. We don’t have a fancy front office with a receptionist. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk into the main bay and find whoever isn't busy. We’ve been operating out of these plots for a long time, and we know the neighbors well. The heat in the GIDC can get pretty intense during the summer months, making the metal hot to the touch. We keep a few fans going, but they don’t do much against the sun hitting the tin roof. Our tools are heavy and well-used. We don't spend money on things that don't help us move or cut steel. It’s a very practical environment. Most of the staff has been with us for years, so we all know the routine without having to talk about it much. We just get the steel ready and ship it out. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. That's life at the estate for us.
