Mahesana Steel & Cement

Running Mahesana Steel & Cement out of Office No-3 keeps us pretty occupied most of the week. We are located right by Shravan School, which means we see a lot of activity during the morning drop-off and afternoon pickup times. Being on the Dahej Bypass Road is convenient for the trucks coming in with loads of steel and heavy cement bags, but the traffic at the chokdi can be a real headache sometimes. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our ledgers and take calls from people looking for building materials. It smells a bit like dust and old paper in here, but we are used to it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, though nobody really has the time to get around to that chore. We spend a lot of our time coordinating where the next delivery needs to go and making sure the inventory counts are somewhat accurate. It is hard work, especially when the weather gets hot and the cement dust starts sticking to everything. We have a small fan that rattles in the corner, trying its best to keep the air moving while we work through the pile of receipts on the desk. People stop by after seeing our sign from the bypass, often asking for directions as much as they ask about prices. We just keep doing what we do every day without complaining too much about the noise or the heat.
