Kotwali Chowk is a mess most days of the week. If you know Bhagalpur, you know how the Main Road gets with all the people and carts. We are right there, opposite the Kameshwar Nath Mandir. You can hear the temple bells ringing throughout the day, which is nice when things get stressful or loud. It’s a crowded area, so getting trucks in and out is always a bit of a headache for the drivers. We have to time it right or the traffic police get annoyed with us. The shop is small and packed with stuff from floor to ceiling. There’s barely enough room to turn around sometimes. We’ve been at this location for years, and the building is starting to show its age. The walls could use a coat of paint, and the floor is worn down from people coming in and out. We don't have a fancy showroom to show off. It's just shelves and counters and a lot of talk about the weather. Customers come in, complain about the heat, buy what they need, and head back into the crowd. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just sitting on the bench out front watching the world go by. It’s noisy and dusty, but that’s the center of the city for you. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we all help each other out when things get busy.
