We are located over at Goura Choki, right on the Amarpur Road. You can’t miss the Shiv Mandir nearby; it’s the main landmark for everyone coming this way. Working with Maa Lakshmi Cements & Tmt Traders means dealing with a lot of steel and heavy bags every single day. The TMT bars are long and awkward to move, so we’re always careful when we’re loading them onto the back of a trolley. It’s a lot of metal clanging and dust flying around. The road outside is usually busy with people traveling between towns, so there's a constant hum of engines. We have a small office where we keep the books, but mostly we’re outside in the yard. The sun hits the metal bars and makes them hot to the touch by midday, so we wear thick gloves. We’ve been at this spot for a good while and have seen the temple get busier every year. It’s a good place to be. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. We just sell cement and steel to people who are building their homes or fixing up shops. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but we just throw down some sand and keep going. It’s practical work, and it’s what we know how to do. We just take things one day at a time here. It keeps us out of trouble and the bills paid.
