This is Hmt Acc Bricks and Tiles. We’re over in Village Amapur, which falls under the Gogha police station. Chandan Kumar Pandey is the one running things here. It’s an OPC, so it’s a one-person setup mostly, with some help from the locals. We are based in the Pakki Sarai panchayat, in the Kahalgaon block. We make bricks and tiles. It’s a messy job, working with clay and the kilns. Our hands are usually dirty by the end of the day. The yard is full of stacks of bricks waiting to be moved. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we have, you just come down to the village and look at the stacks. Kahalgaon is a place where a lot of building is happening, so we try to keep the supply steady. We don't use any high-tech marketing. People just know Chandan and where the kiln is. It’s a simple life. We watch the weather because rain can mess up the process. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. The office is just a small room with a chair and a table for the register. We keep things honest and just do our work. It’s how things are done around here in Amapur. Chandan Kumar Pandey is usually the one you'll see first. He handles the paperwork and the customers. Being an OPC means it’s a tight operation. We don’t have many layers of management. If there’s a problem, we just fix it.
