L I B Bricks

Living and working in Ghogha village means you get used to the dust and the sound of the trucks. L I B Bricks is situated near National Highway 80, which is always busy with vehicles moving goods across the district. Our spot is in the Colgong Tehsil area, and it is pretty easy to find if you are driving along the main road. The post office is nearby too. We spend our days out here in the open, dealing with the clay and the kilns. It is hard work and your clothes always end up a bit red by the end of the shift. The weather really dictates how much we can get done; when it rains heavily, everything slows down and we just have to wait it out under the sheds. We have been doing this for a long time in this village. People around here know where we are, right by the highway. It isn't a glamorous job, just making bricks and loading them up to be sent off to different building sites. The sun can be quite brutal in the afternoons, so we usually take a long break when it’s at its peak. You can hear the highway noise all day long, which becomes like background music after a few weeks. It’s a simple operation, really, just us and the machines and the stacks of bricks waiting to go. We keep things moving as best as we can and try to stay busy.
