Sher Bricks

Sher Bricks is located over in Anajipur, specifically in the Vibhuti Vihar area. We are easy to find because we are close to the Durga Temple here in Kahalgaon. Our yard is usually full of red bricks stacked in long rows. It is a lot of heavy lifting and the sun can be quite brutal in the afternoons. We started out small and stayed that way because it is easier to manage things ourselves. There is always red dust on our clothes and boots by the time we finish for the day. We don't have any big corporate ideas. We just make sure the kilns are running and the bricks are coming out solid. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out perfect, so we set those aside for different uses. The neighborhood is mostly families and other small shops. We see the same faces every day. When someone needs bricks for a new room or a wall, they just come by and chat with us. We don't use many forms or complicated systems. It is mostly just writing things down in a notebook and shaking hands. The trucks rumble through the gate early and we get to work. It is loud and hot, but it’s what we know how to do. We take a break when the heat gets too bad and sit under the shade of the trees near the entrance. Some days we just talk about the weather and wait for the next delivery truck to show up.
