Xiang Shan Restaurant

I’m over here at Xiang Shan Restaurant. We are located at No.71, Sounth End Rd in Basavanagudi. This is a really old and nice part of the city. We have been in this building for a bit now. It’s got high ceilings and it feels a bit old, which we like. We don’t have any fancy decorations, just the tables and chairs we’ve had since we opened. We aren't trying to be some high-end place. We just want to serve the food we know how to make. Most of us in the kitchen have been cooking for a long time. It’s a lot of heat and noise back there, but that’s how a restaurant is supposed to be. Basavanagudi is a place where people appreciate things that have been around for a while. We have our regulars who come in every week and sit at the same tables. We don’t use any corporate talk here. We just say hello and get to work. Sometimes we run out of things or the service is a bit slow when it’s crowded, but we do our best to keep up. It’s an honest way to make a living. We just keep the lights on and the kitchen going. If you’re walking down Sounth End Rd, you can usually see us through the window just getting things ready for the evening. We keep it simple.
