Sri Amman Tent House

If you are looking for us, we are over in Ulsoor on the 1st Main Road in Lakshmi Puram, at number 16/1. It’s a local neighborhood and our place is right in the middle of it. We run a tent house, so our space is filled with stacks of metal poles, folded up chairs, and big rolls of colorful cloth. It’s a very hands-on job. We spend a lot of time loading things onto the back of small trucks or carrying heavy bundles down the street. It’s not a quiet or clean business. There is always a bit of dust and the smell of canvas in the air. We don't have a big office; mostly we just stand around the front of the shop talking to people who need something for a wedding or a small festival. Our days start early and often end late, depending on when the events are finished. Sometimes we are out in the sun all day putting up structures, and other times we are back here sorting through the inventory. It’s a simple life and we know most of the people on this street by name. We don't bother with fancy advertising because word of mouth in Ulsoor is usually enough to keep us busy. The shop is a bit cramped, but we know where everything is, from the smallest light bulb to the biggest tent pole. It’s just how we operate.
