West Time House

West Time House is another one of those shops tucked away in Maruthi Plaza. We are at number 7 on the ground floor. The plaza is near Uma Theater, which is a big landmark for anyone coming down Old Madras Road. Most people tell us they found us just by looking for the theater first. Chickpet is always a mess of traffic and people, and the area around Old Madras Road is no exception. Our shop isn't very large, but it serves its purpose. We have our counters and our displays, mostly just basic stuff. The floor is old tile, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. We see a lot of regular faces coming in, people who have been living in this part of town for decades. It is a very local atmosphere. We don't try to act like a big chain store. It is just us working here, answering questions and showing people what we have. Some days the heat is a bit much, but we have a fan that keeps the air moving. Being near the theater means we get a lot of evening foot traffic when the movies are playing. We just take each day as it comes, keeping the shop open and doing the work that needs to be done at 7 Maruthi Plaza. It's a humble spot but it works for us.
