Our shop is at number 5 Center Street. It’s right on Vallabh Bhai Patel Street in Chickpet. If you know Chickpet, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a maze of shops and people everywhere. We’ve been at this location for many years. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Most of what we do involves watches and timepieces. We have glass counters where everything is laid out. It’s a bit dusty because of the street outside, but we try to keep things clean. The street is always loud with people shouting and horns honking. We don’t have a big fancy entrance. Just the shutter and the display window. People find us because they’ve been coming here since they were kids or their parents told them about us. It’s a very traditional kind of shop. We don’t use much technology besides what we need for the repairs. There are tools and parts scattered behind the counter. Sometimes we have to hunt for a specific piece for a customer. It’s just how it is in this part of town. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a busy life but it keeps us going. We see all kinds of people every day. Some just come in to ask the time or look at what we have. It’s a local spot and we like it.
