Vinay Engineering Works

This is Vinay Engineering Works over in Malleshwaram. We are tucked away at 3 Narasimhaiah Garden, right on the 8th Cross. It’s a small workshop, and it's mostly filled with heavy machines and metal scraps. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the loud sound of welding or grinding from the street before you even see us. I took over this place from my father years ago. We do all sorts of repair jobs and small fabrication work for people in the area. It’s a bit greasy and loud inside, but that is how a real engineering shop is supposed to be. We don't have a receptionist, so if I'm busy with a lathe or a machine, you might have to wait a few minutes for me to wipe my hands and come talk. The 8th Cross is a nice area, though it gets very narrow with all the scooters parked everywhere. We handle a lot of walk-in jobs from people in the neighborhood who need a gate fixed or a specific part made for a machine. Sometimes we stay late into the night to finish a project when someone is in a real rush. I don't really do much advertising or anything like that; people just know we are here in Narasimhaiah Garden. It’s a steady, quiet life for the most part. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard in the monsoon, so we have to move the machines out of the way sometimes.
