Modern Engineering Works

Modern Engineering Works is tucked away on Laggere Road, right near the Government High School. If you’re heading through the Yeshwanthpur Suburb II Stage, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't familiar with this side of town, but it’s a good spot for what we do. The noise from the school kids in the afternoon is something we’ve just gotten used to over time. We started this place with just a few basic machines and a lot of long hours. It’s not a large operation, mostly just a handful of us handling the metalwork and repairs that come through the door. The shop floor isn't exactly pristine, but that's how it goes when you're working with grease and steel all day. We spend most of our mornings getting everything lined up and then just push through until it's time to close up. Sometimes the machines act up, and we have to spend half the day just tinkering with them to get back on track. That’s just life in a workshop, I guess. We aren’t really interested in being some giant corporation. We just want to do the jobs right so the people who come to us are satisfied. It's a lot of manual labor, and by the end of the week, we’re usually pretty tired. But we show up again on Monday and start over. It’s just honest work for us.
