Vijay Vinayak

Vijay Vinayak is located at number 37 on the 2nd Main in Basavangudi. We are specifically tucked away in the 3rd Shop Lane, near the Tata Silk Farm area. Bangalore has changed so much, but this little corner still feels like it used to years ago. Our shop is small and a bit cramped. We have shelves lining every wall, filled with things we have collected or worked on over the years. It’s not a polished showroom. The floor is made of old stone and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a rattling noise when it is on the high setting. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy ads for us. We just put our sign out front and wait for people to come in. Most of our visitors are regulars who have been coming to us since we first opened. We spend a lot of time just talking to the people who stop by. It is a very social way to run a business. We don't follow any strict corporate rules. If we need to take a longer break for lunch, we just pull the shutter down for a bit. Basavangudi is a great neighborhood for this kind of lifestyle. There is a sense of community that you don't find in the newer parts of the city. We just do our daily tasks and try to keep everything in order. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living.
