Vidyashilpa Academy

Our location is a bit out of the way, near the Jakkur Flying Club on the International Airport Road Bypass. It’s in Shivanahalli Village, which is part of Yelahanka. Being near the flying club means we get to see the small planes taking off and landing, which is something you don't see every day. The air out here feels a bit clearer than it does in the middle of Bangalore, even with the airport traffic nearby. The campus is spread out, and we have a lot of greenery around the buildings. It’s not a cramped city school. We have the space to move. The walk to the different blocks can be a bit long, especially when you're carrying a bag full of books, but it’s part of the routine. The buildings themselves are practical. We have plenty of windows to let in the light, though we have to keep them closed sometimes when the wind gets too strong. Most of the people who work here have a long commute, so we start our days early and finish up before the worst of the airport road traffic kicks in. It’s a quiet life for the most part, aside from the planes. We don’t have any big, fancy signs or neon lights. It’s just a place where students come to spend their day, tucked away in a corner of Yelahanka near the old bypass. We have been here for a good while and it feels like home.
