Venkateswara Engineering Works

Down in Konanakunte, we have our shop called Venkateswara Engineering Works. It’s a place where we do a lot of metal work and mechanical repairs. There is always the sound of machines running or someone welding something in the back. It’s not the cleanest place because of all the oil and iron filings, but that’s just how an engineering shop is. We’ve been in this part of Konanakunte for a long time. People around here know us for fixing their tools or making parts for their machines. We have a few lathes and some old drills that still work perfectly fine. We aren't some big industrial factory. It’s just a local workshop. My father started it years ago and I’ve been running it lately. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements. Usually, people just drive their trucks or bikes right up to the front and ask if we can fix something. We try to get things done by the time they need them. The floor is concrete and there are bits of scrap metal everywhere. It’s honest work and we take it as it comes. We don’t use corporate lingo here. We just talk about gears and bolts and how to make things fit. It’s a good way to spend the day and we keep the doors open for anyone.
