Our shop is tucked away in the Krishnamurthy Industrial Estate, right off FCI Road in Vijinapura. If you know the Doorvani Nagar Post area, you probably know where we are. It’s a busy spot with a lot of noise from all the different units around here. We’ve been running Varalakshmi Engineering for a long time now. The floors are usually a bit greasy and there’s always a machine humming in the background. It isn’t the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. Most of the guys here have been with us since the beginning, so we all know how the old machines like to act up sometimes. We handle a lot of different engineering jobs, mostly just parts and repairs that people bring in. The layout of the estate can be a bit confusing if it’s your first time visiting, but once you find us, we’re easy to spot. We spend a lot of time just looking at blueprints or fixing a lathe that decided to quit. It’s hard work and the days get long, especially when we have a big pile of stuff to get through. We don't have a big marketing department or anything, we just answer the phone and do the work. The coffee shop down the street is where we usually end up after a shift. It’s just how things are done here in Vijinapura. We usually have some scraps of metal lying around out front.
