V R S Engineering Works

V R S Engineering Works has been sitting here in Jalahalli 2nd Block for a long time. If you go to the 3rd Cross, you will see us right opposite H M T. It’s an old industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines or someone welding something nearby. We mostly deal with whatever walks in the door and needs fixing or making. The shop isn't much to look at, just some heavy tools and metal scraps lying around on the floor. We try to keep things organized, but in a machine shop, things get greasy fast. Being right across from H M T is handy because everyone knows where that is. We started out small and stayed that way, which is fine by us. My hands are usually covered in oil by ten in the morning. We don’t really have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. People just stand by the entrance and talk while we finish up their parts. The weather gets really hot in the afternoons, but the high ceilings in the shed help a bit. Sometimes we have to wait on materials to arrive, which can be a pain, but that’s just part of the work. We’ve known the guys in the neighboring shops for years, and we help each other out with tools or advice sometimes. It’s a decent living, and we like being in this part of Jalahalli. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
