Ushas Rasoi

Ushas Rasoi is over in Banaswadi. We are located at No. 72 in Nisarga Colony, which is on the 10th Main. It’s just off Horamavu Main Road. If you know where Kamat Bakery is, we are very close to that. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time now. We have seen a lot of buildings go up around us. Our kitchen is where we spend almost all of our time. It’s a busy place with big pots and lots of steam. We don’t call it a "rasoi" because we want to sound fancy; it’s just a name. We focus on making the kind of food you would eat at home. We don't have any corporate offices or a marketing department. It’s just a small team of us working together. My brother does the deliveries and I manage the cooking with a couple of ladies from the colony who come in to help. We don't have a big sign outside. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who have known us for years. We don't spend money on advertising. We just rely on people liking what we make and telling their friends. It’s a lot of work and our hands are always busy. We don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We just make food every day and hope people enjoy it. It’s a simple life.
