Upasana Music Classes

We are located at 146 Andheri Kurla Road. It’s a busy part of the world, that’s for sure. Even though the address mentions Basavanagudi, we are right here in the middle of the Mumbai bustle. Upasana Music Classes is just a small space where the sounds of the street usually compete with whatever we are doing inside. You can hear the horns honking and the rain hitting the window panes during the heavy months. It is not a very quiet place, but music shouldn't always be quiet anyway. We have been at this spot for some time and the neighbors are used to us by now. The stairs up to the room are a bit narrow and you have to watch your step. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby with fancy chairs. Usually, there is just a couple of us sitting around. Most people find us because they live nearby or work along the Kurla road. It gets very humid in the afternoons so we keep the fans running at full speed. Sometimes the power flickers but we just keep going. It’s a simple setup. We don't spend money on big advertisements. The address is 146 and if you reach that point on the road, you’ve found us. It is just a plain room with a lot of history in the walls. We have some old instruments sitting in the corner and the floor is a bit scuffed from all the people coming in. It works for us.
