Golden Holidays

You can find Golden Holidays on the first floor of building number 33, right on S.M. Lane. It’s near Akkipet Road and the Cottonpet Cross, which is a really old and busy part of the city. There’s always someone shouting or a cart moving past the window. We spend our days looking at maps and booking things for people who want to go somewhere else for a while. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking schedules. The office isn't very big, and it’s usually piled with brochures and notebooks. We aren't travel agents who sit in fancy suits; we’re just regular people who know how to navigate the booking systems. Sometimes the systems crash or a flight gets canceled, and then it’s a bit of a scramble to fix things. We try to be honest with folks about what to expect when they travel. The stairs up to our floor are a bit narrow, but once you’re inside, it’s quiet enough to talk. We’ve been in this spot near Sadhuvasvani Road for a good while. Most of our customers are locals who just walk in because they saw our sign. We don't do much advertising. We just handle the tickets and the hotels and try to make sure everything is in order before someone leaves on their trip. It's busy, but we like the energy of this neighborhood. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait, but we just use that time to grab some tea and relax.
