Universal Engineering Works

Universal Engineering Works is located on the 1st floor at 13 Andrahalli Main Road. It’s a decent-sized space, but it’s packed with tools and metal parts, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. Being on the first floor means we’re always carrying things up and down the stairs, which keeps us moving. We do a lot of different engineering jobs, mostly involving repairs or making custom parts that people can’t find anywhere else. The sound of grinding and metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. We’ve got a couple of lathes and some welding equipment tucked into the corners. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but you can’t really do this kind of work without getting some oil on your hands. The neighborhood around Andrahalli is always active, and since we’re right on the main road, we get a lot of people just stopping by to ask if we can fix something they’ve broken. We don’t really do fancy brochures. Most people find out about us from the guy next door or someone down the street. We just open up in the morning, get the machines started, and see what needs doing. It’s a simple way to run a business, and it works for us. We just focus on the metal and making sure the measurements are right before things head out the door.
