Turbo Engineering Works

Our shop is at 44/A in S.R. Nagar. It’s not the biggest place on the street, but we make it work for what we need. We do a lot of repair work and fixing things that people bring in. It could be anything from a small engine part to something bigger from a factory nearby. The floor is usually covered in some kind of grease, and we have tools hanging on every inch of the walls. I spend a lot of time under machines or hunched over a workbench. It’s hard on the back, but I’ve been doing it so long I don’t think about it much anymore. S.R. Nagar is a busy place, so there is always someone popping in to ask a question or get a quote on a job. We don’t have a secretary or anything, so usually one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and goes to talk to them. We try to be fair and just tell people how long a fix will take. If we can’t do it, we say so. No point in wasting anyone’s time. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used thing in the shop besides the lathe. It gets us through the long afternoons when the heat starts to pick up. We just keep the doors open to catch a breeze and get to work. It is noisy and dirty, but it is our livelihood.
