We are located out in Village Bhat, which is in the Gandhinagar district. Our main place is the research centre here. It’s a bit away from the main city noise, which is probably good for the kind of work we do. There are quite a few buildings on the site, and people are always coming and going between them. It’s a lab-focused environment, so things are kept pretty tidy and organized, which is different from a regular office. We spend our days looking at data and working with various equipment. It’s not the most exciting thing to describe to people who aren’t into science, but it keeps us busy. The area around Bhat is still somewhat rural in parts, so you see some green spaces around the facility. We have a cafeteria where most of us eat lunch and talk about things other than work for a bit. It’s a large group of people working here, but you end up knowing the people in your own section pretty well. We don’t really deal with the public directly like a shop would. Most of our time is spent inside the gates, doing the tasks assigned to us for the day. It’s a steady job and the commute isn't too bad if you live nearby. We just focus on the research and keeping the facility running like it should. There are always new things to learn and problems to solve, which keeps the days from being too boring.
