Our place is called Bioplus Gardens, and you’ll find us on Whitefield Road. It’s a bit of a different setup because we have some green space around us, which is a nice change from the usual concrete of the city. We work on things related to life sciences, so there’s a lot of time spent in the lab or looking at samples. It’s not always fast-paced work; sometimes we have to wait a long time for results to show up. We wear white coats and try to keep things as clean as possible, which is a bit of a struggle sometimes when it's raining outside. Whitefield Road is always busy with tech workers and traffic, but once you get inside our gates, it’s a lot calmer. We aren't a giant faceless corporation. We are just a group of people who are interested in how things work at a biological level. Our desks are usually covered in journals and little glass tubes. We don't spend much time on fancy presentations. Most of our effort goes into the actual testing and recording of what we find in our daily work. Sometimes the experiments don't go as planned, and we just have to start over the next morning. It’s a quiet kind of persistence that keeps us going. We’ve been here for several years now, just doing our thing on the edge of the gardens. It's interesting work most of the time.
