Time Factory

Time Factory is over at Mantri Mall in Malleshwaram, specifically on the upper ground floor at shop number 42. Being in a mall like this means our day is tied to the mall hours. We spend a lot of time under the bright artificial lights of the I C Colony area. The shop isn't huge, but it's packed with all sorts of things related to timepieces. Most of our day is spent looking at tiny parts through a magnifying glass or changing out batteries for people who are out shopping. It can get pretty noisy on weekends when the mall is full of families and kids running around. We have a small counter where we talk to customers. Sometimes we’re just sitting there waiting for the next person to walk in. Mall life is different from a street shop; you don't see the weather change, you just see the crowds grow and shrink. We’ve been in this Malleshwaram spot for a bit now. It’s a decent place to be, even if the air conditioning is sometimes a bit too cold in the mornings. We try to keep the display cases clean, but fingerprints always seem to appear. It’s a simple business of fixing things that stopped ticking. We enjoy the variety of people we meet every day. It’s a lot of standing and a lot of fine hand work, but we like the routine of it all.
