The Decorators

We have been doing this for a while now over in Venkateshpura. Being close to the Gurudwara makes it easy for people to find us, though parking can be a bit of a headache on some days. The Decorators isn't a big fancy operation with a huge staff. It is just us and a few local helpers getting things ready for weddings or small birthday parties nearby. We spend most of our mornings checking the fabric and making sure the lights actually work before we head out to a site. Sometimes a bulb flickers or a cloth has a small stain, so we are always fixing something at the last minute. It is dusty work. People stop by the shop and ask for simple things, and we try to get it done without too much fuss. We do not have a big office with air conditioning. It is mostly just ladders, rolls of colorful cloth, and boxes of clips lying around. My cousin helped me set this up years ago. We know most of the neighbors by now. If someone needs a backdrop or some flowers arranged, they just walk in. We do not really do the whole internet thing much. We just show up, set the stuff up, and take it down when the party is over. It is a lot of heavy lifting and carrying, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the weather doesn't help, especially when it rains and we are trying to keep the drapes dry. We just get on with it.
