The Atlas Krane

We've been at 40 Naluthannu Street for a while now. Most people around here in Thirumalisai know where we are. Dealing with big cranes and heavy lifting isn't easy work but it's what we do every day. It's hot out here in Chennai, especially when you're out on a job site. My father started things and now we just keep it going. We have different kinds of cranes for different jobs. Sometimes things break down or the weather gets bad, but that’s just part of it. We aren't a huge company with fancy offices. Most of our time is spent on-site or in the yard. If you walk down the street you can't miss the gate. People ask how we manage the big machines in these narrow spots. You just learn over time. It takes a lot of maintenance to keep everything running right. We spend a lot of weekends just greasing gears and checking cables. It's dusty work. We try to be fair with everyone who comes by. There's plenty of construction happening around Chennai lately so we stay busy enough. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Just us and the machines. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other days it's quiet enough to actually get some cleaning done. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the rigs are ready for whatever comes next. It's not flashy, but it's what we know.
