Bhaskar Looms

We are located right near the Sujata Theater on 3rd Main Road. If you are familiar with the Ramacandra Puram area, you have probably walked past our building at # 69/2 without even realizing it. Bhaskar Looms has been operating from this same spot for quite a few years. The sound of the machines is a constant thing throughout the working day, so it is never truly quiet inside our walls. It is a rhythmic kind of noise that you eventually just stop hearing after you have worked here for a while. We spend a lot of our time maintaining the looms and making sure the threads are not snapping mid-run. It is a lot of physical, manual work and it keeps us very busy. The building itself is quite simple, just an old structure that holds the equipment we need to do the job. We do not have a fancy reception area or anyone sitting at a desk all day, as we are usually in the back with the machinery. Most of our neighbors are doing similar types of industrial work, so everyone understands the noise. It gets really hot in the summer months because the ventilation is not the best, but we keep the fans running. We just focus on getting the cloth woven correctly and making sure the patterns are right. If someone comes by, they usually have to wave their arms to get our attention. We just keep the machines running.
