We operate out of Tippu Nagar in the Ramnagaram District. It's a place known for silk, so it makes sense that we're here. We’ve got a small setup where we handle the silk we get. It's a quiet area for the most part, though things pick up when the market days happen. We don't have a big staff or any fancy computers to run things. It's mostly handwork and keeping an eye on the quality of the threads. We've lived in Ramnagaram for a long time, so we know most of the families around here who do the same kind of work. It’s a tight community. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when it gets too hot inside the shop. We don't do much in the way of promotion. If people need silk, they usually know where to find us in Tippu Nagar. It's a simple way of living. We wake up, check the looms, and see what needs doing for the day. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out quite right and we have to start over, but that’s just part of the process. We don't pretend to be some giant factory. We’re just a local spot doing what’s been done here for generations. The air is often filled with the smell of the cocoons and the sound of the wheels turning. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. The sunlight hits the shop just right in the mornings, and you can see all the tiny silk fibers floating in the air. We don't use fancy talk.
