Tex Craft

Tex Craft is situated in HRBR Layout, right on the 6th Main and 5th Cross area of the 1st Stage. Our specific door number is 305. We’ve been working with textiles and fabrics in this space for a good number of years. The shop usually smells like fresh cloth and there’s always bits of thread on the floor that we have to sweep up. It’s a local operation, so you won’t find any corporate suites here. We spend our days cutting fabric and dealing with different types of materials for various projects. Sometimes people come in with very specific ideas and we have to see if we can actually make it work with what we have in stock. The sewing machines have their own rhythm and you get used to the noise after a while. It’s a bit of a maze with all the rolls of fabric leaning against the walls. We try to keep things in some kind of order, but it gets messy when we are busy. The staff here is mostly local people who have been doing this for a long time. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising; most folks just know us because we’ve been in the 3rd Block for so long. It’s a decent place to work and we just try to get the orders right. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and we just have to deal with it.
