Tamarind Restaurant

Tamarind Restaurant is located at No.2 on the Outer Ring Road in Banaswadi. We are very close to the Ramamurthy Nagar Junction, which is a very busy spot with vehicles constantly passing by. The noise of the traffic is something we’ve just gotten used to over time. Our kitchen is situated towards the back of the building. We start our day by cleaning the tables and setting up the stoves. It’s a lot of work before the first customer even thinks about food. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything, from washing dishes to helping with the prep. The Outer Ring Road location is good for visibility, but it can be a headache when we have to get supplies delivered. The delivery trucks often have to park a bit far away. Inside, the decor is very basic. We didn't spend much on interior design because we wanted to focus on the cooking. The floor is tiled and easy to mop, which we do several times a day. We have a few fans going to keep the air moving, but it still gets warm when the stoves are all on. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don't have a big corporate philosophy or anything. We just show up at No.2, cook what needs to be cooked, and serve whoever comes in. It’s a simple life and a lot of hard work.
