Varalaxmi Engineering Works

Varalaxmi Engineering Works is over in Dasarahalli. It’s a typical engineering shop where we spend most of our time dealing with machines and metal. The shop isn't hard to find if you know the area well. We’ve been set up here for a while now, and the neighbors know us. It’s mostly just a group of us working through the daily projects that come in from local businesses or individuals. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, which is just part of the job really. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that because most of the space is taken up by the equipment. On some days, it gets pretty loud with all the grinding and welding going on. Dasarahalli is a good place for this kind of work because there are plenty of other workshops around. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down for a minute. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear our work clothes and just focus on getting the parts right. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, so we stay late to finish it up. The rain sometimes leaks a bit near the back door, but we've learned to work around it. It’s just an honest place where we put in the hours and try to do a decent job every day. No big speeches here, just the work and the tools. It’s a steady rhythm that keeps us busy throughout the week.
