Swayamvar Kalyan Mantap

Our place is at 184/1 Kalyan Nagar Madhya Marg. It’s in the C S C Mehta Building in Sector 7. This part of Bangalore is always moving. The building is quite large and we have a lot of space inside for weddings and functions. Managing a kalyan mantap means you are always on your feet. There’s always a chair to fix or a floor to sweep. We see a lot of families come through these doors. They are usually stressed about the wedding details. We just provide the space and let them do their thing. The Madhya Marg road outside can get very jammed with cars. Sometimes the noise of the horns comes inside, but once the music starts, you can't hear it. I spend a lot of time checking the lights and the fans. It’s a practical kind of job. The Mehta Building is a well-known spot in the area. People don't usually have trouble finding us. We keep the place open for anyone who needs a hall for their function. It’s not about being the most expensive place, just a useful one. My day starts early when there’s a morning ceremony. I’ve seen hundreds of weddings here over the years. Each one is different but the work for us is basically the same every time. We just make sure the hall is ready when the family arrives.
