Swadesha Sangetha Kala Kendra

The Swadesha Sangetha Kala Kendra is tucked away in the Hegganahalli area, specifically in Koramangala Vi Bk on the 2nd Main. It is a place where we focus on music and the arts, though it is a very simple, local setup. You can usually hear the sound of instruments or someone practicing their singing from the street. We have a few rooms dedicated to different lessons, and they are usually filled with students of all ages. The 2nd Main in Hegganahalli is a busy little stretch, but we have made our space comfortable for learning. It isn't a high-end academy with soundproof walls; it is a community spot where people come to learn traditional arts. There are often instruments like tablas or harmoniums sitting in the corners, and the walls have some old photos of past events. We spend our days teaching and organizing the schedule for the different classes. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when one group is leaving and another is arriving, but we manage. It is a very grass-roots kind of place where the love for music is more important than having the latest equipment. We have been part of this neighborhood for a while, and the local families know us well. It is just a normal, everyday part of life here, keeping the local culture alive through teaching and practice in our own way.
