Suvarna Time Centre

Our shop is tucked into the Utility Building on Jaya Chamarajendra Road, which is always a busy area with plenty of traffic and noise. Suvarna Time Centre has been operating from unit D 3 for many years, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we first moved in. It’s a practical place, nothing too glamorous, but we have what people need when it comes to timepieces. Most of our day is spent at the back counter under a bright lamp, looking through magnifying glasses at tiny gears and springs. The building itself is one of those older structures where everyone knows each other, from the tea stall guy to the other shop owners. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so people have to walk up, but they still come because they know we’ve been here forever. We carry various brands, some old and some new, but we mostly enjoy the repair work. It takes a lot of patience to fix a watch that’s been sitting in a drawer for a decade. The light in the shop isn't always the best in the afternoons, but we make do with our desk lamps. It’s a honest living and we like being right in the middle of Naroda where everything is happening. You get used to the honking and the crowds after a while, it just becomes background noise while we work.
