Sumangali Kalyana Mantapa

Our place, Sumangali Kalyana Mantapa, is located at Nagarbhavi Circle, near the National Law School. It’s a big building at number 82. If you know the Nagarbhavi Main Road, you’ve probably seen us. It’s a busy intersection and there is always something going on outside. We deal with a lot of weddings and family functions here. Most of our work involves moving heavy chairs and setting up tables for hundreds of people. It’s a lot of physical labor. When there is a wedding, the whole place smells like flowers and incense. The noise from the drums and music can be heard all the way down the street. We have to be careful about the parking because the road is so busy. After an event ends, we spend hours sweeping up and getting everything back in order for the next one. The building has been here for years, so it has that older style of architecture. We don't have fancy digital systems. We just write everything down in a big ledger book to keep track of the dates. It gets very hot when the hall is full of people, but the high ceilings help a bit. We are just a local hall that people use for their big days. It’s nothing fancy, just a large space with some rooms for the families to stay in while they get ready. We mostly just focus on keeping the place functional for the next family.
