Strings Institute Of Modren Music

Nandini Layout is where we set things up. Our spot is at number 24. It’s a pretty straightforward music school. We call it the Strings Institute of Modren Music, and yeah, we know how it’s spelled. It’s a busy area and there’s always something going on outside. Inside, it’s mostly about the music. We have a few rooms where we teach, and there are always guitars leaning against the walls. We handle a lot of different styles, depending on what the students are interested in. Some want to learn classical stuff, others just want to play popular songs they hear on the radio. It’s a mix. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it works for what we need. We spend our mornings getting things ready and then the students start coming in after school or work. It gets pretty lively in the evenings. We focus a lot on the basics because you can't really play well without them. It’s a lot of repetition, but that’s how you learn music. We’ve seen a lot of people come through these doors over the years. Some stay for a long time, others just learn a few chords and move on. Either way, it’s a good environment. We just keep doing what we do, one lesson at a time, right here in Nandini Layout. It’s a small operation but we keep busy. We’re usually here until late most nights just teaching.
