Sri Renukambal Engineering Works

If you find yourself near Morarji Chowk in the Peenya Industrial Area, you might hear the sound of our lathes and drills. We are located at number 7, and the sign for Sri Renukambal Engineering Works has been there for a long time. It’s a grit-and-grind type of place. We don’t have a reception area with coffee or anything like that; usually, you just walk in and find someone covered in oil near one of the machines. We take on all sorts of engineering jobs, mostly small batches of parts or repairs that people bring in. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, and we spend a good chunk of our evening sweeping them up just to start all over again the next morning. It’s a basic setup. We have the tools we need and a roof that mostly keeps the rain out. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of Peenya, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. We aren't interested in being fancy or looking like a modern tech firm. We like the smell of grease and the sound of metal being shaped. It’s what we know. My team is small, just a couple of guys who’ve been doing this for years. We know our machines better than we know our own phones. That’s just life at our workshop near the chowk, and we keep at it.
