Sri Raghavendra Watch Centre

We are located at 118 Old Madras Road, right in the Ulsoor area. Sri Raghavendra Watch Centre has been our life for quite some time now. The shop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit a lot of tools and watch cases into the space we have. The traffic outside on the main road is always loud, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the ticking of all the clocks on the wall. It’s a funny sound when they all go off at different times. I learned how to fix watches from my father, and I’m still using some of the same tools he had. It’s tricky work, especially with the newer digital ones, but I still prefer the old mechanical ones where you can see the wheels turning. Most of our regulars are local people who have been coming to Ulsoor for years. They bring in watches that belonged to their grandfathers, hoping I can make them run again. Sometimes I can, sometimes they are too far gone, but I always try. The light in the shop isn't the best in the afternoons, so I have a big lamp right over my workspace. It gets hot under there, but you need to see the tiny screws. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here on the Old Madras Road if they need a battery or a repair. It's just a simple neighborhood shop.
