Sri Music School

Sri Music School is located over in Kumarswamy Layout, specifically on the 7th Main. If you are walking around the 425 area of the layout, you will probably hear some instruments or someone singing if you pass by at the right time. We did not want to open a place that felt like a big institution with strict rules and uniforms. Instead, it is more like a local spot where people from the neighborhood come to spend an hour or two with music. Whether it is kids coming after their regular school or older people who finally have time to learn an instrument, we see all kinds of folks here. The room isn't huge, but it fits what we need. We have some benches and the instruments laid out. We spend a lot of time just going over the basics, repeating the same scales and notes until they sound right. It takes a lot of patience, both for the teacher and the student. We do not promise anyone they will become a famous star or anything like that. We just help them learn the songs they like or understand the rhythm better. It is a quiet kind of life here on 7th Main. We open up, tidy the place, and wait for the students to show up with their notebooks. It is just about the music and getting the notes right, one day at a time. It feels good to hear someone finally nail a difficult piece after weeks of practice.
