Sri Mashailakshmi Transport Company

Sri Mashailakshmi Transport Company is over at D 8 in the Yeshwantpur Devraj Urs Truck Terminal. It is a very busy spot in the Industrial Industrial Suburb, especially at night when all the heavy trucks start rolling in. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel around here, so things get pretty messy when it rains. We have a small cabin where we keep track of the logbooks and wait for the drivers to check in. It’s not a quiet place because there is always someone honking or a motor running somewhere nearby. My desk is usually covered in tea cups and delivery slips that need sorting out. We’ve been operating from this terminal for quite some time now. Most of the guys here have been with us for years and they know the routes better than anyone. It’s a lot of waiting around sometimes, waiting for a load to be ready or for a truck to arrive from out of town. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big sign, just the name on the door and the trucks lined up outside. The Industrial Suburb can be a bit confusing if you aren’t used to all the turns, but once you find the truck terminal, we are right there at D 8. It’s a tough business and the hours are long, but this is what we do. We just keep the wheels moving and try to get home when the work is done and the gate is closed for the night.
