Sri Maheswari Silk Palace

Sri Maheswari Silk Palace is over at 33/1 on 5th Cross in Malleshwaram. This part of Malleshwaram is a mix of people living here and small businesses popping up. The 5th Cross is usually a bit calmer than the main Sampige Road, but it still gets its fair share of traffic during the festival seasons. Our place is not a huge palace despite the name; it’s just a regular shop where we keep our silk items and other goods. We’ve been here for a while, and the neighbors are all very familiar to us. You can see the old houses with their big porches nearby. We have wooden shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, filled with different colors and patterns. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we often take things to the doorway to show the true color in the sunlight. We have a couple of ceiling fans that rattle a bit when they are on high speed. It’s a comfortable place for us, even if it’s a bit cluttered at times. We don't do much advertising. Most people who come here have heard about us from their mothers or aunts who live in the area. We just sit on our cushions, drink our coffee, and wait for customers to drop by. It’s a slow and steady way of working, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
