You can find Sri Lakshmi Times Centre over in Venkateshwara Layout, which is part of the larger BTM Layout area. Our shop is a small place where we focus on fixing watches and clocks. It’s a quiet kind of work that requires a lot of focus and a very steady hand. We have hundreds of tiny parts stored in little plastic drawers, and sometimes it takes ages to find the exact gear or spring we need for an old watch. The walls are covered with clocks that we’ve repaired or that are waiting for someone to pick them up. BTM Layout is a loud place with lots of motorbikes and cars, but inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of ticking. We’ve been at this for a while, and we’ve seen all kinds of watches come through the door. Some are expensive ones that people are very careful with, and others are just old favorites that have stopped working. We tell people honestly if something can’t be fixed or if the parts are too hard to get. We don't have a fancy showroom; it’s mostly just our workbench and the tools we’ve used for years. We spend our days under a bright lamp, looking through a magnifying glass at tiny pieces of metal. It’s a simple way to make a living, and it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters at night.
