Sri Fabricators

Sri Fabricators is located at 2 Kamakshi Palya. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. We spend most of our time surrounded by lengths of steel and the sound of saws cutting through metal. The shop floor is usually covered in iron filings and scrap pieces that we eventually clear out. It gets quite hot, especially when the welding torches are going for hours. Kamakshi Palya is a busy neighborhood with a lot of small shops like ours. We mostly just focus on the job at hand, whether it’s a gate or some window grills. Our hands are almost always stained with black soot or rust by the end of the shift. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room; people usually just walk right into the work area to talk to us. It can get pretty loud, so we have to shout over the grinders sometimes. We take our tea breaks outside on the step to get a bit of fresh air away from the fumes. The equipment we use is old but it still does the job fine. Sometimes we run out of space when a big project is halfway finished and we have to shuffle everything around. It’s just us working with metal every day, trying to get the measurements right and making sure the welds are solid. There’s nothing fancy about it, just hard work and a lot of sweat in this little corner of the city.
