If you look for 216 Prakash Nagar, you’ll find us right near Suguna Hospital. Sri Ashok Engineering Works has been running out of this spot for a good bit of time. It’s a loud place, honestly. Between the welding and the grinding, you can’t hear much else. We spend most of our time bent over workbenches or dealing with some engine part that won’t cooperate. Prakash Nagar is a tight area, so parking is always a bit of a headache around here. The hospital is a good landmark because everyone knows it. We started out small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage the work ourselves. The walls are covered in old calendars and grease marks from hands. We don’t have an office staff, so if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and picks it up. Some days are slow, and we just sit outside on the stools for a minute. Other days, we’re backed up with repairs until late at night. The equipment we use is old but it still does what it needs to do. Being near the hospital means it’s always busy on the street, but inside the shop, it’s just the smell of hot metal and oil. It’s a simple setup at number 216, and we just focus on the job right in front of us. We've been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. It's just a normal day for us.
