About Sree Varna Silks – Fashion & Trends in Bengaluru
If you climb up to the first floor at 625/1 on Netravati Road, you’ll find Sree Varna Silks. We are the first shop you see when you get to the top of the stairs. Chickpet is always crowded, so having a spot on the first floor is a bit quieter than being right on the street level. I spend most of my time unfolding sarees and showing the colors to whoever walks in. The light isn't always the best in here, but we have enough lamps to show the real shade of the silk. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when more than three people are inside. I usually have some snacks tucked away in the drawer for when the afternoon hunger hits. We carry a mix of things, some very bright and some more traditional. I don't really use a computer for my accounts, just a big ledger where I write everything down by hand. It works for me and I’ve never seen a reason to change it. My neighbors on this floor are all good people, and we often share tea. Netravati Road can be a nightmare for parking, so most people just walk over from the main intersection. I’ve lived in this city all my life and this shop is my second home. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside, but we have what people are looking for. I hope to keep this little corner of the market for as long as I am able.
