Speed Bike

We are over on 1st Main Road at the Buvaneshwari Cross in RT Nagar. Speed Bike is a place where there is usually some grease on the floor and the sound of engines being tested out front. It’s a small shop, number 4, right in the thick of the neighborhood. I’ve lived around Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar for a long time, so setting up the shop here just made sense. We work on all kinds of bikes, mostly the ones people use for their daily commute to the office. It’s not a high-end garage; it’s a place for real riders who need their machines to work every single day. I usually have a couple of guys helping me out with the repairs, and we are usually covered in oil by noon. The tools are scattered around the benches, but we know where every wrench is when we need it in a hurry. The street outside can get pretty clogged with parked scooters and people walking to the local shops nearby. It’s a neighborhood spot, plain and simple. We don’t have a waiting room with a TV or anything fancy like that. Most folks just stand around and chat with us while we look at their bike. We get the spare parts delivered from the city market every few days. The air always smells like petrol and exhaust around here. It’s just a standard local bike shop trying to keep the locals on the move. We stay open until late most nights because people need their bikes ready for the morning.
