Southern Times

Southern Times is located down in Balepet. Our spot is in the Sri Kalyan Building at number 77/2. If you find the Syndicate Bank, we are just below it. It is a bit of a crowded area, but that’s just how Balepet is. We deal with newspapers and printing work mostly. The machines can be quite loud when they are running full speed throughout the morning. We have stacks of paper everywhere and the smell of ink is pretty strong. It’s a family-run kind of feel here. We’ve been in this basement-level space for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. People come in to place ads or to pick up their orders. We spend a lot of time checking proofs and making sure the text is readable. It is a lot of manual work, moving bundles around and making sure the cutters are sharp. We don't have a big marketing team. Most people know us just because we’ve been under the bank for so many years. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a minute, but everyone is used to it. We just keep our heads down and get the printing done. It’s a steady pace of work every single day of the week, including some weekends.
